These terms set out how we work together — what you can expect from me and what I'll need from you. I've kept them as plain and straightforward as possible, because that's the sabai way.
Sabai Designs is a freelance web design studio operated by Shelley Longden, based in the UK. By engaging my services you agree to these terms.
Before any work begins, we'll agree on the scope — what the site will include, the general look and feel, and a rough timeline. Any changes to the agreed scope after work has started may affect the price and delivery date.
All websites I build are:
One-Off Build (£199): A 50% deposit (£99.50) is required before work begins. The remaining 50% is due before the site goes live or files are handed over. Work will not commence until the deposit is received.
Build + Care Plan (£199 + £20/month): The same 50% deposit applies before work begins, with the balance due on completion. The £20/month care plan is then billed monthly in advance from the date the site goes live.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer. Invoice details will be provided on agreement of the project.
Two rounds of revisions are included in the build price. A revision round means a set of feedback gathered in one go — not individual back-and-forth requests. Additional revision rounds beyond the two included will be quoted and agreed before any work is done.
Where you provide images, you confirm that you have the right to use them. If you do not have images, I will source suitable stock photography from free commercial-use libraries (such as Unsplash or Pexels) on your behalf. Stock images are licensed for commercial use at no extra cost. I cannot be held responsible for any copyright issues arising from images supplied by the client.
To keep things on track, I'll need you to:
If delays on your side push the project beyond the agreed timeline, the delivery date will adjust accordingly. If a project is paused for more than 4 weeks due to lack of client response, I reserve the right to archive the project — a restart fee may apply.
The care plan covers managed hosting, domain renewal, and small updates each month. A small update means a straightforward change such as updating text, swapping an image, or changing a price. It does not include adding new sections, new pages, new functionality, or design overhauls — these will be quoted separately.
The care plan is billed monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice. On cancellation, I'll provide your website files and transfer your domain — your site is always yours.
For the One-Off Build, a custom domain is included for the first year. After that, renewal is the client's responsibility. For clients on the care plan, domain renewal is handled and included as part of the monthly fee.
Once the project is paid in full, the website and all its contents belong to you. I retain the right to display the work in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.
I also reserve the right to include a small "Designed by Sabai Designs" credit link in the footer of websites I build. If you'd prefer this removed, just let me know and I'll take it out — no problem at all.
I take care building every site, but I cannot be held liable for losses arising from website downtime, third-party service outages, or events outside my control. My total liability in any dispute is limited to the amount paid for the project.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
